Nacho Abia
Nacho Abia

Mr. Nacho Abia started his career with Olympus in 2001 as the Chief Executive Officer of the Iberia Region based in Barcelona, Spain. He later moved to Hamburg, Germany in 2007 to take on a role as the Managing Director of the Consumer Imaging Business for the Olympus Europa region.

In 2011, he moved to Center Valley, Pennsylvania to join Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA) and assumed the responsibility of President for its Consumer Imaging Business Division. In 2013, he was promoted to the role of President of OCA and in March 2015 was also appointed as its CEO; a role he continues to hold today overseeing the Company’s activities throughout North and South America. He is also a member of OCA’s Board of Directors and of the Global Executive Committee of Olympus in Tokyo.

In addition to his Olympus responsibilities, Nacho serves on the Board of Directors of AdvaMed (Advanced Medical Technology Association) and on the Board of Directors of the US-Spain Chamber of Commerce. Prior to joining Olympus, Nacho held several positions in the IT and consumer electronics industries working for a variety of high-tech companies, including Sony and Techdata. He holds dual Master’s Degrees; one in Telecommunications and Electronic Engineering, and another in Business Administration.

Born in Spain, Nacho is married with two children and currently lives in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In his personal time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, hiking, running and cycling. He firmly believes in the motto, “Be persistent. Never give up and fight for what you believe is right.”

Mr. Yasuo Takeuchi began his career in 1980 at Olympus Optical Co. Ltd, now known as Olympus Corporation. Since joining the Company, he has held various roles in Corporate Planning, the Medical Business, the Life Science Business and the Corporate Executive Office, many of which included global responsibilities.

In 2009, Mr. Takeuchi was appointed the role of Executive Officer for Olympus Corporation, and later assumed various executive-level and global responsibilities including: Director of Olympus Corporation of Asia Pacific Limited; Chairman of Olympus Corporation of the Americas; Senior Executive Managing Officer of Olympus Corporation; and Director Member of the Board for Olympus Corporation. In 2013, he also assumed the position of Director of Olympus Europa Management SE.

In April 2015, he assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Management for Olympus Corporation. Additionally, he serves as the head of the Board of Directors for Olympus Corporation of the Americas.

 Mr. Takeuchi graduated from Chuo University, Faculty of Commerce in Hachioji, Japan.

Mr. Pierre Lacroix began his career with Olympus in 2003, serving in the United States and abroad including Olympus’ Europa (EMEA) Headquarters in Hamburg, Germany as Finance and Operations Manager for the Imaging Division, and Olympus’ French subsidiary as Chief Financial Officer. In 2010, Pierre became the Manager of Consumer Products Operations and Business Unit Audio for all of Olympus Europe. In 2011, he relocated to the United States and accepted the position of VP of Finance & Operations for Olympus Imaging America. In 2013, Pierre became the Chief Financial Officer of Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA.)

Pierre performs his current role as CFOO for OCA from its headquarters in Center Valley, PA. He is also a member of OCA’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Pierre holds dual Master’s Degrees in Telecommunications Engineering and Business Administration from HEC Paris. Prior to joining Olympus, he held positions in Corporate Banking and Consulting.

Born in Paris, France, Pierre is married with three children and currently lives in Radnor, Pennsylvania. In his free time, he enjoys participating in triathlons and sampling fine wines.

Stephen Froehle
Stephen Froehle
Vice President and General Counsel,
Olympus Corporation of the Americas

Mr. Stephen Froehle joined Olympus Corporation of the Americas July 9, 2018 as Vice President and General Counsel. In this role, he leads the organization’s Legal Department and also serves as a member of the company’s Executive Committee. Prior to joining Olympus, Steve spent twelve years at Medtronic, most recently as Vice President Legal, leading the legal team supporting Medtronic’s Coronary & Structural Heart Division.

Earlier in his career, Steve was General Counsel for Servpro Industries, Inc.; a Senior Attorney with Carlson Companies; and a litigation partner with a Minneapolis law firm.

Steve holds a B.A. in both English, and Business Management from St. John’s University and a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law, both located in Minnesota.

Steve is married with two children, and currently lives in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Julien Sauvagnargues

Originally from Albertville, France, Mr. Julien Sauvagnargues performs his current role as President of the Scientific Solutions Group (SSG) and Consumer Products Group (CPG) from our OAI’s headquarters in Center Valley, PA. In this role, he oversees the core business groups responsible for clinical, educational, and research microscopes, nondestructive testing equipment, and analytical instruments (SSG) as well as the sales of digital cameras, lenses, audio products and binoculars (CPG).

Julien joined Olympus France in 2006 as a Division Manager for the Microscopy and Industrial Endoscopy Products, later becoming Division Manager of France and Belgium in 2008 for Consumer Products. In 2012, he and his family relocated to the United States after accepting the position of Vice President of Sales of North America for Olympus Imaging America Inc. (OIMA). The following year, he was promoted to Group Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Prior to joining Olympus, he served four years as the Sales & Marketing Director at Arjo Wiggins in France.

Julien holds a master’s degree in technology and management from CentraleSupélec, a research institution in France, and a second master’s degree in finance from Edhec Business School.

In his free time, Mr. Sauvagnargues enjoys playing tennis, listening to music and reading.

Joe Doherty

Olympus Surgical Technologies America

Originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, Mr. Joe Doherty performs his role as President of Olympus Surgical Technologies America (OSTA) from its headquarters in Southborough, MA. In his role as President, he oversees the development, manufacturing and repair of a breadth of devices within Olympus’ surgical products portfolio. Joe is a member of the Executive Committee for Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA), as well as the MassMEDIC Board of Directors and the WPI Foisie School of Business Dean’s Council of Strategic Advisors.

Prior to joining Olympus in 2015, Joe spent 24 years with Johnson & Johnson. In his last assignment with J&J, he was the Vice President of Integration, responsible for the largest ($20B) Johnson & Johnson acquisition in history (Synthes) and a member of the Executive Team of DePuy Synthes, a $10B Orthopedic and Neuro device company.

While at J&J, he was also the Head of R&D, and member of the worldwide management board, responsible for the global neurosurgical/neurovascular portfolio of (Class 1,2,3) products used for the treatment of hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes, hydrocephalus, pain, and spasticity.

Joe graduated from the United States Military Academy (West Point) with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and served eight years of active/reserve duty in the United States Army, retiring as a Captain. He also has an MBA from Nichols College in Dudley, MA.

In his free time, Joe enjoys fitness and water sports. His favorite motto is, “Duty, Honor, Country.”

Mr. Fabrice Cancre started his career with Olympus in 2005, previously serving as R/D Tech’s President of U.S. Operations until their acquisition by Olympus that year. Prior to his current position, Fabrice served as President of Olympus’ Scientific Solutions Group.

A French native, Fabrice received his PhD in Physics from École Normale Supérieure, a constituent college of PSL Research University, in his hometown of Paris. He currently performs his role as President of Olympus Scientific Solutions Americas in Waltham, Massachusetts. He serves on the Executive Committee for Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA), as well as on the Board of Directors for Olympus Canada Inc. (OCI).

In his free time, Fabrice enjoys running. He abides by three mottos:

Caryn Dashukewich

Ms. Caryn Dashukewich joined Olympus in 2006 as the Director of Human Resources for its Medical Systems Group and currently serves as the Corporate Vice President of Human Resources for all of its businesses within the U.S., Canada and Latin America. The HR team, under Caryn’s leadership, is responsible for organizational development, employment, training, employee relations, compensation, benefits, employee services and all other facets of managing the Company’s human assets. Caryn is a member of the Executive Committee for Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA), as well as a board member for the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Prior to joining Olympus, Caryn was the HR Director for North America at Agere Systems Inc., a spin-off of Lucent Technologies now known as Broadcom, in Allentown, Pa. During her role, she focused on compensation and leadership development for employees worldwide, and spent six months in Japan managing the business’ human resources in the Asia-Pacific region. Previously, she held positions with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and Stateside Associates in Washington, D.C., where she handled recruiting, compensation and project management.

Originally from Washington D.C., Caryn graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and from Johns Hopkins University with a master’s in applied behavioral science. She currently resides with her husband and two sons in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania.

In her free time, Caryn enjoys watching her sons’ sporting events, gardening and playing the piano. Her favorite motto is: "Leaders don't create followers; they create more leaders." - Tom Peters.

Thomas Glavin

Chief Compliance Officer,

Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mr. Thomas Glavin performs his role as Chief Compliance Officer from Olympus Corporation of the America’s (OCA) headquarters in Center Valley, PA. In his role, he ensures that all business activities abide by OCA’s policies and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations. He is also a member of the Executive Committee for OCA.

Prior to joining Olympus in 2016, Tom spent 10 years with Shire as Vice President and Compliance Officer for the Americas. He was responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and management of the corporate compliance program in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. Before Shire, Tom served in Compliance and Legal roles at Sanofi-Aventis (now Sanofi). He began his career in private law practice in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

Tom received a law degree from the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University Law School in Philadelphia, PA, and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Villanova University in Villanova, PA.

In his free time, Tom enjoys reading, traveling, being outdoors and spending time with his family.
