Olympus America Inc. Announces 2001 Sponsorship of Cahill Racing and Dr. Jack MillerINDIANAPOLIS, IN - Olympus America Inc. has announced that it will join forces in 2001 with Indy Racing League veteran Dr. Jack Miller and Larry Cahill of Cahill Racing for the 2001 Indy Racing League (IRL) campaign. Olympus America Inc., which will serve as a primary co-sponsor of the Cahill team, has just broken new ground, as this constitutes their first major motor sports marketing sponsorship in the United States. Terms were undisclosed. "We are thrilled to partner with a top Indy driver and one of the premier teams in Indy racing," said Brett Serxner, Marketing Manager, Vertical Markets, Olympus America Inc. "Digital photography and digital imaging are all about speed and precision. Dr. Jack's a great spokesperson for the complete Olympus line of digital imaging products developed for 21st century health care." Dr. Jack spoke from his Indianapolis headquarters, "I am honored to be working with Olympus America. In my dual professions, I recognize the need for technical excellence to be combined with a drive to succeed, and Olympus certainly has both of those qualities." Dr Jack uses Olympus digital cameras and photo printers in his dental practice for macrophotography, allowing him to show patients detailed before and after photos as well as simulate changes so they can see ahead of time what the results would look like. Dr. Jack's first year with Cahill has the Indianapolis native eagerly anticipating the IRL season. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to partner with Larry Cahill. Larry and his team exude the competitive spirit essential to success in racing, and they are completely focused on getting to the winner's circle and that's where I want to put the Olympus/Opalescence car. I know that Darrell Soppe's engineering expertise will give me the best car possible, and I can't wait to get behind the wheel." The #11 Cahill Racing/Dr. Jack Miller car will be a Dallara chassis, Oldsmobile Aurora power plant, and Firestone tire combination. The upcoming season will be Dr. Jack's fifth year of IRL competition. The practicing dentist is a three time Indianapolis 500 starter, placing 20th in his 1997 rookie effort and 21st in 1998 when he was the only Infiniti powered car to make the field. After a 31st place finish in 1999, he was bumped from the show in the final seconds of 2000 qualifying, an experience which motivated the Indianapolis native to join Cahill Racing for 2001. After fielding open wheel cars in various divisions for over 30 years, Cahill is entering its fourth year in the IRL. About Olympus
