New Olympus Infinity 80 QD Film Camera Features Ergonomic Design For Comfortable Shooting

38-80mm, 2.1x Seamless Zoom, Built-in Flash, 6 Shooting Modes, Quartz Date and More

Melville, New York, February 17, 2005 - While digital cameras continue to grow in popularity, film cameras are still the choice of many photographers. This year, Olympus releases the Infinity 80 QD, a compact 35mm film camera that features a powerful 38-80mm zoom lens that is sure to satisfy these consumers. With a modern design incorporating a precision 2.1x zoom lens, highly versatile quality shooting is ensured. Five flash modes, a landscape shooting option, plus a self timer make it an ideal tool for taking pictures in just about any situation.

In the renowned Olympus tradition of elegant and compact camera design, the Infinity 80 QD makes a real statement with its lustrous metallic silver color and protective sliding lens barrier. The perfect take-anywhere-camera, the Infinity 80 QD is lightweight and measures only 4.6"W x 2.5"H X 2.1"D, yet is full of features.

Comprised of four elements, the 2.1x zoom lens (38-80mm) captures subjects in full detail. To guarantee that all shots are always sharp this compact model utilizes an active-type autofocus system. A programmed electronic shutter ensures optimal exposure. And full-auto operation for auto load, advance and rewind a film.

Seven preset modes make it easy for photographers to obtain excellent results. These include five flash modes (auto, red-eye reduction, flash off, fill-in and red-eye reduction night scene) that automatically regulate brightness according to subject distance, providing full-power illumination when the subject is far away, and soft-flash illumination when the subjects' eyes adjust to the bright light of the flash.

Moreover, in landscape mode clear shots of distant scenery are captured in perfect detail. With the Infinity 80 QD photographers can also get themselves in the picture by using the self timer. Because it is a Quartz Date model, the camera imprints date and time information on photos. And for economy and convenience, the Infinity 80 QD is powered by two AA (LR6) type batteries.

The Infinity 80 QD will be available in March, 2005 and includes: Case, Strap, 2 AA Batteries, Instruction Manual and Warranty.
