Olympus Previews PK®7300 Automated Microplate System
Anaheim, CA October 20, 2007- Olympus is previewing its next-generation PK®7300 Automated Microplate System at the AABB Annual Meeting & TXPO 2007 this week. Designed for blood donor centers, the PK7300 system offers the performance that has made Olympus the leader in the Blood Bank market. Olympus systems test more than 90 percent of the North American blood supply1.
The system utilizes the same proven technology, agglutination in the Olympus microtiter plates, as its predecessors – the Olympus PK ® 7100 and PK ® 7200 systems. The PK7300 offers users enhanced process control features, increased throughput, upgraded computer hardware and software, and reduced maintenance.
Additional features include clot detection, reagent monitoring and quality control monitoring, and a flexible, user-friendly Windows®-based computer system. To streamline use and help ensure accurate recordkeeping, it also features extensive online support, with the user manual, troubleshooting guide, training and maintenance videos and information, and maintenance and part usage records all available online. Market launch is anticipated during the fourth quarter of 2007.
