Cruiser to Feature Interactive Tennis Activities, Player Appearances and Olympus Product Demonstrations

Stops to Include Olympus US Open Series Tournaments, State Fairs, Outdoor Festivals

NEW YORK, June 9, 2008 -- The USTA and Olympus today announced that a specially-designed bus will criss-cross the country to kick-off the 2008 Olympus US Open Series -- the "Greatest Road Trip in Sports." The nation-wide tour begins here today to coincide with the start of US Open ticket on-sale to the general public, then crosses the country to California and culminates with a return to New York for the 2008 US Open, the last stop on the Olympus US Open Series.

The bus, which is also featured in the national advertising campaign to support this year’s Olympus US Open Series, will contain a full array of interactive activities for fans, including a player photo wall, player appearances, an interactive tennis skills challenge that will be set up at each stop, Olympus digital camera demonstrations and other fun activities. It will also appear at several Best Buy locations around the country on behalf of Olympus, the title sponsor of the Olympus US Open Series.

"The Greatest Road Trip in Sports" bus tour will commence in New York City and head to California by way of Cincinnati, Washington, D.C., Indianapolis, and Minneapolis before arriving in Los Angeles for an appearance at the popular Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa. The bus then heads up the California coast to arrive at the first women’s tournament of the Olympus US Open Series, the Bank of the West Classic in Palo Alto on July 14 and July 15. The bus then immediately heads east to reach finals weekend of the first men’s tournament of the Olympus US Open Series, the Indianapolis Tennis Championships.

"This bus tour is all about bringing the game closer to fans," said Michelle Wilson, USTA Chief Marketing Officer. “We have brought the ‘Greatest Road Trip in Sports’ to life and fans will get to enjoy fun, hands-on tennis activities all summer long.”

"It’s a great vehicle that promotes the Olympus US Open Series and enables people across the country to experience tennis and our products in a unique and engaging way," added Mark Huggins, executive director, Brand Marketing, Olympus Imaging America Inc.

In all, the special cruiser is expected to clock 12,930 miles in 86 days, stopping at 36 different venues in 22 states. In addition to the first two Olympus US Open Series tournaments, the bus will visit the following Olympus US Open Series events: the Rogers Masters in Toronto, the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters in Cincinnati, the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington D.C., and Pilot Pen Tennis in New Haven, CT.
