The Digital SLR System starts with a 4/3-type image sensor, more commonly referred to as the “Four Thirds System”. This diminutive sensor allows us to develop smaller and faster lenses and thereby develop cameras with increased portability. This breakthrough also contributes to a new standard of digital SLR camera systems that can feature interchangeable lenses, something previously unattainable with digital SLR cameras based on existing 35mm film SLR lens systems. Such progress will enable users to mix and match lenses and digital SLR cameras from various manufacturers that subscribe to the standard, providing photographers with a plethora of picture-taking options.

Along with the Four Thirds System technology, the Digital SLR System features a metal body that ensures peak performance day-in and day-out, as well as outstanding image quality via “Lenses designed to be digital”.
