2. Do I need additional hardware for my computer to record and playback sound during image editing?
A microphone and sound card are required for recording and play back of sound after images are transferred to computer for editing.

3. Can RAW development be done in OLYMPUS Master?
OLYMPUS Master can be used to do RAW development on all Olympus RAW image files. The RAW development portion of the software will only work on images taken with Olympus cameras. Batch processing is supported.

4. Can I update my camera's firmware from the OLYMPUS Master software?
OLYMPUS Master will allow camera updates in the Windows and MAC versions of the software for Fall 2004 models and later.

5. Will free updates be available for OLYMPUS Master?
Yes, you can check for updates by selecting "Update Software" from the "Online Services" menu in OLYMPUS Master. When free updates are available they will appear in the (online) software update window.

6. How can I purchase OLYMPUS Master if I have not purchased a camera with this software included?
OLYMPUS Master and OLYMPUS Master Plus will be available in November 2004 on our web site or your local retailer. This software can now be upgraded to OLYMPUS Master Plus via a website download.

All new Olympus cameras being introduced in Fall 2004 and going forward will include the OLYMPUS Master software.

7. How has this software improved?
Improved features in the OLYMPUS Master software include e-mail, storage organization, image editing such as RAW and batch processing, and various printing options. Improved features in the Plus version of the software will include: CD/DVD creation, templates, movie editing, and file converting.

8. Do I need to install additional software like QuickTime?
All the required pieces of software will be installed automatically with the installation CD provided.

9. Can you upgrade from CAMEDIA Master software to OLYMPUS Master?
OLYMPUS Master is a new program. You cannot upgrade CAMEDIA Master to OLYMPUS Master, however, you can install both programs on the same computer.

10. Is OLYMPUS Master compatible with my digital camera?
OLYMPUS Master is compatible with Olympus digital cameras utilizing a USB connection. For cameras equipped with a serial port connection, you would need to use an alternative (optional) input device to transfer images into OLYMPUS Master, such as a memory card reader.

11. Can I save and view images in OLYMPUS Master from a source other than an Olympus camera?
Yes, you can save and view any image listed under the supported file formats shown in the "operating environment" section.

12. Can I import image albums that I created using CAMEDIA Master 4.x into OLYMPUS Master?
Yes, and OLYMPUS Master will automatically prompt you to transfer image albums saved in CAMEDIA Master 4.x upon opening OLYMPUS Master for the first time.

13. Does the e-mail feature in OLYMPUS Master support email providers such as AOL?
Yes, OLYMPUS Master supports providers such as AOL provided that you are not accessing your e-mail via web mail. OLYMPUS Master is designed to automatically attach the selected images using your computer's default mail client assuming it is an SMTP or a POP3 server. Please consult your e-mail provider for details.

14. Can I order prints or share images online using OLYMPUS Master 1.1?
Yes, you can order prints and share your images online using the services that are provided in OLYMPUS Master 1.1. At this time, these services are limited to the Windows platform of the software.

15. Can I print photos using the templates that are available in OLYMPUS Master on non-Olympus photo printers?
Yes, the templates available in OLYMPUS Master can be printed on most standard photo printers.

16. How do I view the Video CD's/ DVD's that I created using the OLYMPUS Master Plus upgrade?
The Video CD's/DVD's can be played on most home DVD players supporting Video CD 2.0 format. Please consult your DVD player's manual for details.
