If
there's anyone who should know how to judge a product's design and
performance, it's Jeff Dorgay.
The Phoenix-based photographer spent many of his adolescent years
in a body shop, fixing and admiring automobiles and motorcycles
of diverse shapes and sizes - experiences that helped him develop
a keen sense for what works and what does not. When he decided he
wanted to combine his passion for cars and motorcycles with his
love of photography, he did so with the help of the Olympus E-10
and C-4040 digital cameras, and now works primarily with the E-20
digital SLR. "Being a car guy, I'm really a build, quality,
look-and-feel kind of person, and the E-20 is a real mechanically
robust camera for its price range," Dorgay said. "The
(E-20's) performance and value is tremendous. It's easy-to-use and
very intuitive."
Such characteristics have helped Dorgay experience much success
with his unique "automotive art." He has worked with car
and motorcycle manufacturers such as Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and
Ducati, and has compiled an impressive list of clients that includes
Jerry Seinfeld and Steve Jobs. He is also a member of the Olympus
CAMEDIA Masters program and has made the company's innovative digital
products a staple of the tools used to produce his brilliant work.
"Olympus equipment is nice and easy to figure out," he
said when explaining one of the reasons he prefers shooting with
Olympus digital cameras. "You can take it right out of the
box and begin using it without referring to the manual. That's the
sign of a good product."
