Olympus America Inc. assumes no responsibility for lost or late entries. Entries that are mutilated, damaged, torn or illegal will be disqualified.


All federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations apply. This contest is void where prohibited by law. Each winner must sign an affidavit of eligibility and compliance with the rules and a publicity release within fourteen (14) days after the attempted notification. Each winner must also submit one or more signed model releases, and must ensure that any other individuals featured in the submitted photo(s) have signed model releases, if necessary. Failure to do so will result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner. Unless prohibited by law, each winner consents to the use by Olympus America Inc., and anyone employed by or affiliated with Olympus America Inc. of the winner's name, likeness and image for publicity purposes without additional compensation. In addition, each winner is responsible for paying any and all taxes on his or her prize(s).


Digital Camera Photos: Submit through the online submission form.


The contest is open to residents of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec). Entrants must have reached the age of majority in their state, province or territory of residence as of the date of entry. Employees of Olympus America Inc., its respective affiliated or subsidiary companies, or members of an employee's immediate family and/or those individuals living in the same household of each are NOT eligible.

Each photo submitted must have been (i) taken by the entrant and (ii) taken with an Olympus® camera. Photos taken with any other kind of camera will not be eligible. If it is determined after the winners are announced that any winning photo was taken with another kind of camera, the prize will be revoked and another winner announced.

Winners of an Olympus Photo Contest, i.e. - those entrants whose submission resulted in their winning a tangible prize from Olympus such as an American Express® Gift Certificate, etc. - are not eligible to win the immediately subsequent Olympus Photo Contest, regardless of the category. Example: a winner in the 2005 Summer Photo Contest will be ineligible to win the 2005 Fall Photo Contest, but will be eligible to win the 2005-06 Winter Photo Contest.


The photographs will be judged based on originality (25%), photographic quality (25%), composition (25%), and appropriateness to the theme (25%). All judging decisions are final.


Winners will be notified by mail with appropriate release forms as outlined under "General Regulations".


A total of four prizes (one for each theme) will be awarded following the conclusion of the contest on August 10, 2007, as outlined below:

• Kids & Family: One (1) prize of a $100 American Express gift certificate – great for travel or purchases - and a spot in our winner’s gallery.
• Travel: One (1) prize of a $100 American Express gift certificate – great for travel or purchases - and a spot in our winner’s gallery.
• Scenic: One (1) prize of a $100 American Express gift certificate – great for travel or purchases - and a spot in our winner’s gallery.
• Wildlife: One (1) prize of a $100 American Express gift certificate – great for travel or purchases - and a spot in our winner’s gallery.
