Please send your camera, along with a required proof of purchase for the M1GB, M512MB, or 512MB xD-Picture Card (an original, scannable UPC bar code from the xD-Picture Card package and a copy of the sales receipt) to an Olympus Repair Center at one of the following addresses:

  • Firmware will be updated by service staff at these 2 locations. Please allow 7-10 days from the time Olympus receives the camera for upgrade to have it shipped back.
  • Camera will be marked on the body (next to the battery space at the bottom of the camera) to indicate that firmware upgrade has been completed.
  • Returned freight paid by Olympus.
  • Olympus M1GB, M512MB, and 512MB xD-Picture Cards can be purchased at authorized Olympus dealers.
*Customers who have purchased an Olympus, SanDisk or Lexar M1GB, M512MB, or 512MB xD-Picture Card will not be charged for this firmware upgrade service. For customers who want to have their firmware upgraded but have not purchased an Olympus, SanDisk or Lexar M1GB, M512MB, or 512MB xD-Picture Card, the firmware upgrade is available for $39.95 plus shipping and handling.
