Resizing images for web-based email using Olympus Master

If you are using a web-based email service, emailing your photos can be as simple as attaching a file. When emailing a file, however, be aware of file size. Larger files will take longer to send and receive.

In Olympus Master 1, you can resize your photo using the "Convert Format" function located under the "File" menu. In the first box under "Specify Size," type in 640 for a larger image or 480 for a smaller image. Click "convert" and you will be prompted for the location you would like to save the converted file. You may want to save it to your desktop for easy access from your web-based email program.

Note: The original image will not be affected; this only makes a copy of the image in the new size.

• Example 1 - 640 X 480
• Example 2 - 480 X 360

Once your file is resized, you can attach it to your email or send it to a Web-based photo album.

Emailing Images with Olympus Master using a local email client

If your email client is located on your computer, Olympus Master can interact with it directly.

1. Click "Browse" from the opening menu.

2. Browse to the folder containing the image(s) you wish to email. Click on "E-mail" located in the top menu.

   

3. Hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and left-click on each image you wish to email. If you want to highlight all the images in the folder at once, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and left-click on the first and last image in the folder. Then click on "Add" in the lower left corner.

   

4. Next hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and left-click on the first and last image you have added. Click on "Resize" and "Maintain Aspect Ratio". In the first box under "Specify Size" type in 640 for a larger image or 480 for a smaller image to email. Once the image is attached to the email it will automatically resize the other dimension to maintain the correct aspect ratio.

   Note: The original image will not be affected; this only makes a copy of the image in the new size.

5. Click on "Launch Mailer" to automatically attach the images to an email in your default email program. The default email program is determined by your Internet browser setup.

   

   In Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows, click on Tools>Internet Options>Programs and click on the down arrow next to "Email" to change your default email program.
