Melville, NY - Once again Olympus is maintaining its mission of improving its best products. The latest Advanced Photo System (APS) camera to join the i series family is the i Zoom 3000. This new lightweight camera continues the series' position of being "Worry-Free" and is equipped with a 21-58mm zoom. The new zoom is comparable with a 26-73mm ultra-wide zoom on a 35mm camera, allowing photographers to enjoy the best of both worlds: APS technology and a full zoom.
Assuring that consumers can freely take pictures without worrying about capturing the moment, no matter the distance, the camera's other features include a 2.8x APS zoom offering a wide angle, telephoto lens, multi-function flash modes and the 24-inch close-up macro capability with all the benefits of APS. Standard APS benefits include drop-in-film loading, information exchange capabilities, multiple print formats (panoramic, HDTV and classic) and a self-timer.
Measuring the length of a credit card, the i Zoom 3000 is perfect for carrying in the smallest of pockets and purses to capture those memorable moments with friends and family at events such as the Oscars or a wedding. Newly designed with a Bond-like feel and touch, the i Zoom 3000 has a sleek silvery cubic shape with a metal front outlined by black-edging and weighs a mere 5.1 ounces and measures a slim 3.6 (W) x 2.4 (H) x 1.3 (D) inches.
The i Zoom 3000 is the best value in its class and is available nationally, starting April 2001. The camera packaging includes a case and battery and will be sold for a suggested retail price of $291.00.
