Melville, New YorkOlympus America Inc. announces that its Diagnostic Systems Division has signed Fisher HealthCare to serve as its exclusive distributor of its Olympus AU400 Chemistry Immuno System and related reagents and consumables. The AU400,™ a consolidated workstation performing 800 tests per hour, is part of the Olympus family of high speed automated analyzers. These systems feature the broadest test menu of over 118 tests, random access capability, and standardization throughout the line for the most cost-effective testing in the market today.
"Fisher HealthCare will help Olympus increase access to the hospital market," said Olympus division manager Steven Wasserman. "We intend to leverage Olympus leadership in clinical chemistry with Fisher HealthCare's position as the leading supplier of diagnostic instrumentation, tests and related products for the clinical lab market."
The Olympus-Fisher HealthCare agreement will help laboratories meet their testing requirements, while providing for the future. Both companies share the vision of providing innovative equipment and unsurpassed service. The Olympus chemistry immuno systems are flexible for different sized facilities and suited for core lab, rapid response lab and satellite installations. Standardization throughout the Olympus line means that hospitals get the same results using the same methods on equipment designed for varying testing volumes and save in the process through common reagents, consumables, calibrators, and parts sharing.
The AU400 is a member of the Olympus family of random access chemistry systems, which include the AU640™ and AU2700™ (pending regulatory clearance and not available for sale in the U.S.). These analyzers feature the largest 118-test menu that, unlike Olympus competitors, are available on each of the models. This standardization feature gives Olympus an edge in the hospital market, which is experiencing consolidation due to mergers and network agreements.
