All MicroSuite™ FIVE packages include software control of Olympus motorized microscopes (BX61, IX81, SZX9/SZX12, and AX70/AX80).
Hardware wizards allow the user to define all of the motorized components on the microscope. Standard Olympus objectives, filters, mirror cubes, and condenser inserts are programmed into picklists within the dialog boxes. Multiple user-definable configurations can be saved and recalled for later use, making this software an ideal choice for a multi-user facility.
Once programmed, a push of a button on the microscope frame, handset, or monitor screen automatically sets up the microscope with the proper illumination and appropriate objectives, contrast inserts, filter cubes, and auxiliary filters for a particular mode of observation (brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast, fluorescence, polarized, or Differential Interference Contrast microscopy). A button can also be linked to a macro, to execute a particular process.

All programmable microscope settings are stored with the captured images. The software automatically reads the objective magnification, and applies a properly calibrated scale bar to the image. With a motorized Z-drive, parfocality can be automatically achieved as objective magnification is changed.
MicroSuite™ FIVE can be used to control third-party XYZ, XY, or Z-only motorized stages (Prior, Ludl, Märzhäuser, ASI, and others). With the appropriate packages, stage positions can be saved and recalled later using the Stage Manager or Stage Navigator.
The Light Microscope Extension provides functions for controlling third-party shutters and filter wheels (Prior, Ludl, Sutter, and Uniblitz). LME is included in all packages, with the exception of SE.
