New interactive measurement tools like the Magic Wand, Interpolated Polygon, and Free Hand Polygon make manual measuring more efficient. Besides providing an exhaustive list of measurement parameters (size, shape, orientation, intensity, phase, etc.), the software displays a running list of statistics. Individual measurements can be deleted easily. All measurements can be quickly transferred to a spreadsheet, and exported to Microsoft Excel, for more sophisticated analysis.

Automated measurements, based on thresholding, can be made on full-frame images, regions of interest, or masks. With optional motorized stage integration, automated processing results in simple, fast, and flexible image analysis. User-defined classification schemes allow the data to be sorted according to predefined parameters, and filtering can be performed to exclude objects that fall outside of the ranges of interest.

MicroSuite™ FIVE also introduces ratio, kinetic, and intensity measurements on whole images or regions of interest, with graphs of intensity changes over Z or time. Simple background corrections are incorporated.
