Hamamatsu offers an impressive line of interline cameras to meet the needs for a range of applications and budgets. Hamamatsu cameras offer exceptional quality and reliability that are necessary for demanding research applications.
HAMAMATSU ORCA FAMILY OF INTERLINE CCD CAMERAS OVERVIEW
The ORCA line up of monochrome cameras meets a broad range of fluorescence and transmitted light applications for life sciences. All ORCA cameras are built on the ER-150 progressive scan interline CCD that offers high speed and high sensitivity. The ER-150 chip offers exceptional quantum efficiency compared to ICX 285 sensors in a 1344x1024 format with 6.45 µm pixels.
ORCA-R2 – Maximum Versatility
Features include:
- 1.37 million pixel interline CCD with maximum QE over 70%
- 16 full frames per second up to 64 fps with binning and subarray
- 14MHz and 28 MHz readout modes (with 6 or 10 electron r.m.s. read noise) included for either high precision or high speed
- 12-bit and 16-bit digitizers are included and software selectable
- Air and water cooling (-40 °C absolute) capabilities are standard
This camera is suited for applications that require:
- High resolution and short exposure times combined, e.g. live cell imaging
- Choice of very low noise or very fast readout to suit applications
- Choice of bit depth to suit data and precision needs, e.g. quantitative imaging
- Long exposures with very low dark current and no vibration
ORCA-03G and ORCA-05G – Affordable price and low noise
Features include:
- 1.37 million pixel interline CCD with maximum QE over 70%
- 8.9 full frames per second up to 43 fps with binning and subarray
- 12-bit and 14-bit digitizers are included and software selectable
- 03G is cooled to -10°C absolute
- Compact head size with single cable and no controller
These cameras are suited for applications or situations that require:
- High resolution and short exposure times combined (03G), e.g. live cell imaging
- Compact design
- Both bright fluorescence and NIR-DIC
- Fast frame rates and good precision
- ORCA-03 includes peltier cooling for extended exposures
