Olympus Selected as one of the Lehigh Valley's Top Workplaces for 2015

The Morning Call's Best Place to Work Award Show Employee Confidence in Company Direction

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., March 5, 2015 –Olympus, a precision technology leader in designing and delivering innovative opto-digital solutions in healthcare, life science, industrial and consumer electronics products, announced today that the Company has been selected as one of The Morning Call’s Top Workplaces for 2015. This marks the second year in a row that Olympus has received this honor.

The Top Workplaces are determined solely on employee feedback, gathered by Workplace Dynamics, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. The results show that overall Olympus employees feel positive about their workplace, the direction of the company, its leadership, and its value and ethics. They report positive feelings about their contribution to Olympus and their managers. As compared to last year's survey, there were improvements in employee rankings on management, flexibility and values and ethics at the Company.

Findings of the survey, which reflect an 81 percent response rate from Olympus employees, highlight that more than half of Olympus employees:

  • Rate Olympus high for company direction, citing confidence in Olympus leadership and belief that the Company operates by strong values and ethics
  • Give their manager positive or very positive ratings, particularly for assistance in job performance and for caring about employee success in the Company
  • Give the Company positive marks for flexibility and work/life balance
  • Feel appreciated for their work and feel that they are part of something meaningful
  • Feel encouraged to share new ideas

“Olympus employees showed strong engagement by providing nearly 1,000 comments about what it’s like to work for the company,” said Nacho Abia, President of Olympus Corporation of the Americas. “I want to commend all who participated and particularly our colleagues who helped us improve over last year in our ratings. The best way to create an ideal workplace is to listen closely and strive constantly to make the changes that really make a difference. Our employees continue to show such commitment.”
