Rotational Development Program

In addition to our various full-time roles, we also offer a rotational program for individuals who have already completed their degree.

The Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA) Rotational Development Program is a 24-month program, consisting of three 8-month rotations, designed to develop and train early talent through targeted rotational assignments and learning opportunities in one of our many business units and functions.

Our 2024 Rotational Development Program will begin in June, and will feature positions available in these following business areas:

Medical Solutions Group (Medical Marketing)

Our Medical Solutions Group (MSG) Marketing team leads the development and deployment of commercial strategics and tactics that drive growth within our innovative and market-leading product platforms. Launching new products, maximizing the impact of existing products, and managing the commercial success of our portfolio are all key aspects of our team. We partner cross functionally with several teams including sales, communications, professional education, and others in the Americas and globally to create and innovate.

The Rotational Development Program – Medical Marketing – will consist of rotations with 3 of our Product Marketing functions (Endoscopy, Respiratory, Service, Ear/Nose/Throat, Surgical Solutions, Urology/Gynecology) and will also include project work and exposure to Enterprise Solutions and Commercial Operations.

Location: hiring in Center Valley, PA and Westborough, MA

Manufacturing Engineering

This position will be part of the single use endoscope (SUE) manufacturing engineering team. As a global leader in re-usable endoscope technologies across a broad range of therapeutic and diagnostic applications, Olympus is on a bold new journey to develop, launch, and support a range of SUE products to complement our re-useable scopes. The manufacturing engineering team is engaged along every step of this exciting journey including early-stage design for excellence (DfX) analyses to ensure designs are suitable to commercial scale manufacturing, manufacturing process and equipment design and development, design transfer to pilot and commercial manufacturing, and process improvement and sustaining support post launch. Each piece of the journey is critical to ensuring best in class process reliability, capacity, and cost effectiveness to enable Olympus to bring reliable and effective products to medical professionals around the world to fulfil our purpose of Making people's lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling.

Rotational areas within the SUE Manufacturing Engineering program will include:

  • Engineering Project Management
  • Manufacturing Process Development & Validation
  • Equipment Development & Validation

Quality Assurance Regulatory Affairs

Quality Assurance Regulatory Affairs is responsible for ensuring our products and services are safe and effective and that Olympus follows all regulations in the countries where our products are sold.

Rotational areas within the QARA group may include:

  • Regulatory Affairs
  • Design Quality Assurance Engineering
  • Additional Quality or Regulatory Rotation (Auditing, Quality Management Systems, Customer Market Quality, or Manufacturing Quality)

Digital Product Development

Digital Product Development is responsible for delivering all components of the Olympus Digital Ecosystem. This ecosystem includes capabilities such as Artificial Intelligence, Clinical Automation, Hospital Integration, and Internet of Things. These capabilities are delivered by a talented, global team across all product lines.

Rotational areas within the Digital Product Development group may include:

  • Internet of Medical Things (IoMT)
  • Systems Integration Engineering
  • Testing Engineering

Therapeutic Solutions Division Global Marketing

Program Requirements:

  • Completed Undergraduate degree. Requirements regarding degree major/discipline will vary by individual position and will be specified in the job description.

  • Open to travel / future relocation. (As a global medtech company, Olympus has a number of locations across the U.S. and internationally. Upon completion of the 2-year rotational program, participants may be required to relocate to another Olympus office for their full-time placement, based upon business need. Therefore, preference will be given to candidates who are open to future relocation.)

Does Olympus recruit or interview on campus?

I found a position that I’m interested in posted on my school’s Career Services website. Can I apply through my school instead of your website?

No. If you apply only through your school, we will not receive your application. You MUST apply through Olympus’ website, careers.olympusamerica.com

Should I include a cover letter/transcript/writing sample/references/other when I send in my resume?

Just a cover letter! We encourage you to use your cover letter to provide us with insight into your interest in and qualifications for the position to which you are applying. Beyond that, you should not submit any other supporting documents. Depending on a candidate's qualifications, additional documents such as a writing sample and transcript may be requested of those applicants who advance further in the interview process.

What is the application deadline?

Applications are reviewed as they are received. We recommend current students looking for positions after graduation should start applying to jobs when you are in your final semester. Unless otherwise noted, positions posted are immediate openings, and hiring managers will be looking to start their new employee within a few months of posting. 

I see a position labeled “Evergreen Requisition.” What does that mean?
