RICHMOND HILL, ON. (December 2, 2025) – Olympus announced today that Olympus Canada Inc. has been named one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers for the 10th consecutive year. The Greater Toronto's Top Employers competition recognizes employers with exceptional human resources programs and forward-thinking workplace policies.

Rahool Jain, Senior Manager, Finance, joined Olympus Canada earlier this year after 12 years as an accountant in the financial industry. During his interview process, Jain said he was drawn to the fact that everyone who interviewed him had a decade or more of experience with a company that had been in business for more than a century.

“I want that kind of belonging in a company that I work for,” he said.

Since joining Olympus, Jain has taken advantage of extensive management trainings and mentorship from his manager to help lead his team.

“It was a game changer for me,” he said. “The company invests a lot in their employees, and they truly want them to succeed.”

After stepping into her role as a Business Process Analyst, Showmiya Sivaruban has also taken advantage of leadership training opportunities as well as participating in the Women’s Employee Resource Group (ERG), where speakers shared insights into their Olympus careers and offered advice on networking and mentorship.

“The learning never stops and that’s what I like about this new role,” she said. “There is always support around at Olympus if I need it.”

ERGs bring together Olympus employees with shared experiences and perspectives to foster collaboration, mentorship and professional growth. At Olympus, the ERGs are vital to the company’s culture and play a key role in strengthening patient safety and product quality. The ERGs include:

  • African American
  • EnABLE+
  • Veterans
  • Asian
  • InterFaith
  • Women's
  • LGBTQ+
  • Emerging Professionals

Patient focus is among Olympus’ core values along with integrity, innovation, impact and empathy, and Sivaruban said she finds herself thinking of the patient first in her decision making.

“I align with the values at Olympus,” she said. “It makes me feel more fulfilled at work.”

The Greater Toronto's Top Employers competition recognizes employers with exceptional human resources programs and forward-thinking workplace policies. Editors at Mediacorp grade employers on eight criteria: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time-Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which companies offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

Olympus employee benefits considered for the award include: $1,500 mental health practitioner benefit; 100% parental/adoption leave top-up pay; $5,250 (max) related and unrelated tuition subsidies; $2,500 (max) referral bonuses. Benefits also include two days paid leave a year for employees who want to volunteer with a nonprofit organization and matching charitable donations of up to $2,000.
